Who this policy covers
This policy explains how the Audimore Android app and the Audimore launch email list handle information. Developer and privacy contact details will be added before the app launches on Google Play.
Your audiobooks stay on your device during transcription
Audimore does not require an Audimore account. Listening, transcript reading and search, dictionary lookups, bookmarks, notes, and transcript generation work on your device. Download your audiobook and the speech-recognition model before using features that need those files offline.
Audimore does not upload your audiobook audio or transcript text to us or to a transcription service to generate a transcript. The current app does not include advertising, developer-operated analytics, automatic crash-report uploads, or an Audimore cloud-sync service.
Information stored by the app
To provide its features, Audimore stores information in its private app storage, including:
- Your library, audiobook metadata and artwork, playback positions, library order, and settings.
- Bookmarks, notes, transcripts, caption timing, and transcription progress.
- Access references for files and folders you select, and downloaded or imported audiobook copies where needed.
- Speech-recognition models, download progress, and temporary files used for imports, exports, and processing.
- If you connect Audiobookshelf: the server address, username, download permission, and encrypted session tokens.
Android's file picker lets you choose which files and folders Audimore can access. Access may continue after restarting the app so your selected files remain available. Some imports use a reference to the original file; ZIP imports and files from non-local document providers are copied into private app storage. Importing does not delete the original source.
When Audimore connects to the internet
Optional online features contact the services needed for the action you choose:
Speech-recognition downloads. Models are downloaded over HTTPS from Hugging Face or GitHub and their download infrastructure. These hosts can receive your IP address and ordinary request information needed to deliver files. Model requests do not include your audiobook audio, transcript, bookmarks, or listening history.
Public audiobook catalogs. Browsing, searching, viewing covers, and downloading Internet Archive books contact Internet Archive. The LibriVox catalog in Audimore also uses Internet Archive's LibriVox collection. Requests can include your search text and the selected book identifiers, along with your IP address and connection information.
Cover searches. Submitting a cover search sends the entered title, author, ISBN, or other search text to both Open Library and Internet Archive. Images are downloaded from the provider supplying the result. A selected cover is saved in the app. Your audio, transcripts, bookmarks, and listening history are not included in cover-search requests.
Audiobookshelf. Connecting sends your username and password directly to the server you select over HTTPS. Audimore does not save the password in its connection storage. It saves session tokens using Android Keystore-backed encryption and uses them with that server for library access, searches, covers, and downloads. Disconnecting removes the stored connection and tokens and attempts to end the server session. Manage the third-party account itself with your server operator.
Document providers and external links. Choosing a file or destination from a provider such as Google Drive can involve that provider's network and account services. Opening an external source or license link uses your browser. Those providers handle information under their own policies. Audimore does not send a separate copy of your imported or exported files to us.
Google Play and Android may independently process information for installation, updates, security, diagnostics, or other platform services under their own policies.
Backups and exported transcripts
You choose when to create a backup or export and where to save it. Depending on your selections, a backup can contain library records, settings, playback positions, bookmarks, notes, artwork, transcripts, and audiobook audio.
Audimore does not encrypt backup ZIP files. Anyone with access to a backup may be able to read its contents. Exported transcripts are also readable files. Choose a storage location you trust. If you select a cloud document provider, that provider can store and process the files.
Permissions and security
The app uses internet access for its online features and Android background-work support to continue playback, transcription, downloads, and backups. Notifications can show playback controls and task progress. Android may request notification permission when you start a feature that needs it.
The production app uses the system file picker instead of requesting broad access to your audio library or shared storage. It does not request microphone, camera, contacts, or location permissions.
Audimore uses private app storage, HTTPS network connections, encrypted Audiobookshelf session tokens, and download verification. These measures do not make every stored file encrypted or guarantee complete security. Your exported files remain under your control.
Keeping and deleting app data
Audimore keeps local information while it is needed for its features. You can remove library items, bookmarks, covers, or transcripts through the app. Deleting a book removes its library information and eligible app-owned audio and generated files. Files may be retained temporarily for Undo, an active backup, another library reference, or a cleanup retry.
Removing a library entry does not delete the original selected file or a remote audiobook. Removing a model does not delete completed transcripts. Resetting preferences does not delete your library.
Clearing Audimore's app storage or uninstalling it removes its private app data through Android. Original files, exported transcripts, backups, and copies held by external providers are separate: delete those from their storage location or provider. Device migration and platform-managed copies depend on Android and your device provider.
There is no Audimore account to delete. Disconnecting an Audiobookshelf server does not delete your account on that server.
Launch email list
If you join the website's launch list, we collect your email address, submission time, consent record, and a technical reference used to prevent duplicate submissions. We use these records to send the one launch notification you requested, not an ongoing newsletter.
We retain launch-list records for the launch-notification process and remove them when they are no longer needed for that purpose.
Changes
We will update this page when Audimore's information-handling practices change. The effective date identifies the current policy.
